'Gardening & Property Maintenance'
We have a very friendly, professional, smart & very talented team, Horticultural experience & training.
So a little about us - We (CVP Gardening) are local (based in St Minver), we have been established since 2016 as 'CVP Gardening & property maintenance’. We have over 75 full time properties now that we look after on a regular basis in Rock, Trebetherick & Polzeath. We have lots of private clients (most are long term customers, but we are growing!) & we also now do a lot of agency work for the big, local letting agents too. All our work is by recommendation & I stand behind our work & our reputation.
I have several teams of fantastic gardeners out working everyday, all working for me, full time, who have the same passion for looking after your garden as I do.
We are friendly & professional & have a wealth of experience between us - We have tree surgeons, horticulturalists, strimmers & mowers, an ex-head greenskeeper from Lanhydrock golf club, who’s obsessed with lawns & a younger lad too under our wing...
I manage the diary, customers, billing, the teams & all the work (along with my head gardener Matty) each & everyday & I even get out on the ride-on or out to work on bigger jobs sometimes too!
We have an Environment Agency waste license & also use a green waste company. We have a fleet of vans, a trailer, 2 John Deere ride-on mowers, all our other equipment - mowers, strimmers, hedgers, chainsaws etc is all professional grade ‘Stihl' machinery (bought from new, by me) and is regularly serviced & maintained by a local, licensed Stihl dealership.
We can mulch waste in my field in St Minver, we have long armed hedging tools & pruning ladders, chainsaw tickets etc. We plant out, we do weeding, hedging, mowing, we do lawn treatments from spraying & spreading to scarifying & aerating with our own machinery, we have our own pressure washer… the list goes on. We have full commercial liability & indemnity insurances. There’s not much we can’t cover in your garden.
I keep the personal touch with all my customers, so I am always on the phone or email, I bill regularly telling you which operative(s) went, what date & time (in & out) & what they did, we take before & after pictures for your information. We make lists of work that we could or should do & are fully adaptable to do as much or as little work as you want /need. We try to work around you & your visitors as far as possible so things look good for anyone staying at your property.
'Main Contractor Services'
We have a seriously talented and most importantly; a proven team (a selection of several of each trade) of the best local professionals - available to sub-contract to us. Which means we can act as your main contractor - i.e.: Camel Valley Projects Ltd can act as your builder, if you so wish. We are CIS registered, fully insured, we are VAT registered and have strong relationships, accounts and therefore trade discounts with suppliers and merchants.
'Client Agent & Project Management Services'.
Although this in fact encompasses a range of services which is not an exhaustive list - let's use an example:
We look after any or all of the parts of this process from start to finish.
(To be clear; we do look after renovations, extensions and other projects too not just large scale builds, it may be the whole process or just some elements of the project life cycle, dependant on client requirements).
There is so much involved in this process (as per the example above) from finding the plot, dealing with the agents and seller, then comes finding an architect, the design process (drawings), planning permission, building regulations, ultimately acceptance/approval. After this, one needs to find a suitable main contractor and/or contractors to carry out the work. This process should involve quantity surveyors (QS/pricing services) and a formal tender process and ultimately decisions on approved contractors and their tender submissions and final quotes, payment schedules etc. Now given the correct approvals such as buildings regulations and necessary services in place, HSE (health and safety) and importantly, sometimes 'contract(s)' in place with the main contractor - the client can actually start the project 'on the ground'.
The project needs a price, a plan, and someone to oversee it. Decisions need to be made on a daily basis, communication is key. From the very start - site preparation and setting out - right through the entire process through drainage, plumbing, electrics to final decoration; it is so important that the men on the ground and the materials and machinery are arranged properly, the correct, accurate, cost efficient decisions are made, ahead of time, to avoid issues and delays. This continues throughout the build process and there are a vast number of individuals (from plumbers to structural engineers) and general build components (from drawings to materials and suppliers) to pull together on a daily basis. This needs to be done by someone experienced and constantly available to all. This includes most importantly being available to the client themselves with updates, explanations, options, someone to keep an eye on the progress, the costs, deal with issues on the ground each and every day.
It should be noted that there are some vitally important planning and construction methods to ensure the value, safety, longevity and ultimately the successful creation of a warm and dry property. Once the foundations are in (to the architect's plan and to the approval of the building regulations inspector), the walls are up and the roof is on, the windows and doors in.. All of this needs to be dealt with in the proper manner! From the cavities or timber frame design and supply to the damp-proofing, insulation(s) and fireproofing to the felt and slate, external stonework, render or cladding... The internals of this structure will need to be boarded, skimmed and plastered then air tested and SAP rated - you will then need to look to the finish; materials, colours, fittings and fixtures, kitchens, bathrooms, floor & wall coverings, decoration, log burners, technology, landscaping.. you name it, the list goes on and on, it is a multi-faceted process from start to finish, many of the component parts impacting the next.
Please do get in touch and we can discuss the relevant services I can offer, tailored to you and your property or project.
Many Thanks,
